Congratulations, Thanasi (T.C.), 2010 Alumnus of the Year!
Alumnus of the Year, Thanasi (T.C.) Liakos
Thanasi C. (T.C.) Liakos, president of the Liakos Companies, was recently recognized by the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua as their 2010 Alumni of the Year during their 10th Annual Steak & Burger Dinner. T.C. was a member of the original Boys Club located at 315 Main Street. He was active in the Club’s sports programs, and received accolades for his skills in both street hockey and basketball. One of the highlights of his Boys Club career was being named the Northeast Champion in Ping Pong. His relationship with the Club was renewed in 2006 when he became a member of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua Board of Directors. He is currently serving as Vice President of Support Services. T.C. has been involved in all of the Club’s fundraising activities, including the annual Holiday Auction, Steak & Burger Dinner, annual It Just Takes One campaign, and the 31st annual Friel Memorial Golf Tournament, where he serves as the Chair of that committee
Recently, T.C. has served as an integral part of the Club’s Teen Center and Clubhouse improvement committee. He spent countless hours meeting with contractors and the architect to ensure that the renovation project was completed in a timely manner. Chief Executive Officer, Norm Bouthilette, commented, “T.C. was integral in the Club’s Teen Center and Clubhouse renovation project. His personal experience and demands for excellence allowed us to stay on target as well as receive the best work possible throughout our renovation. His role on the facility committee made the entire process seamless and he worked tirelessly to ensure that current members receive the same opportunities and quality that he received as a member.†The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua Alumni Association recognizes an outstanding alumni or alumna each year who has demonstrated a commitment to the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua while also exemplifying the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua mission “to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.†Currently, T.C. resides in Nashua with his wife, Stephanie, and 2 youngest children.
