Club member selected to participate on National Steering Committee
Danelis Alejo is a perfect example of a young person making a difference in the Nashua community. Danelis Alejo, a 16 year old who attends Nashua High School South, is the President of the Gate City Keystone Club at the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua.
Keystone Clubs are chartered leadership and service clubs for boys and girls ages 14-18. Keystoners elect officers and implement activities in six areas: service to Club and community, character and leadership development, education and career exploration, unity, free enterprise and social recreation.
Each year, Boys & Girls Clubs of America selects a youth steering committee to plan the National Keystone Conference (theme, objectives, overall program) and to assume major leadership roles at the conference. As a member of the Keystone Club, Danelis was nominated and chosen to be a member of the 2008 National Keystone Conference Steering Committee with 14 other young people from across the country. She will be traveling to Garden Grove, California in late September to help plan and organize the 2008 National Keystone Conference which will be held for thousands of Keystone members in March of 2008.
