Old Navy Employees Offer Club Teens a Behind-the-Scenes Peek at Retail Careers

Club members participate in annual Camp Old Navy program

In The Spotlight

As part of a nationwide effort between Boys & Girls Clubs and Old Navy, 15 teens attended the Camp Old Navy event at the Nashua store on Daniel Webster Highway on Wednesday, July 30, 2008.

Members were able to meet with Old Navy employees and participate in hands-on activities that reflect an experience in retail careers. Members were able to try their hands at processing transactions, maintaining the floor, managing all employees, as well as handling the dressing room process. Youth were able to interact with real Old Navy customers and also participate in the morning's team meeting. They discussed with the GM the day's goals, and also talked with employees about how they reach those goals.

Members were encouraged after the experience to apply to become members of the Old Navy team.

CareerLaunch provides a full range of career exploration and job skills experiences for teens. Members interested in this program should contact Justin Newton, Education Director, at 883-0523 x238 or jnewton@bgcn.com.
